Company Director & Facilitator

Rena Bryson is a theatre artist and facilitator whose work seeks innovative ways of staging modern Ireland. She co-founded Eva’s Echo Theatre Company in 2017 and since then has produced, written, directed, and starred in many of the company’s 10+ productions.
Rena’s love for drama facilitation was sparked as a teenager, when she began her career as an assistant at Olive Whelan’s School of Speech and Drama, Mullingar. She implemented the drama exercises she learned into her work with the Nóinín Autism Support Group. She merged her love of both by developing drama workshops for children and adults with autism at the MWB Autism Support Group, Longford.
Following this, she trained as a facilitator while studying for her honors degree in Performing Arts at ATU Sligo and furthered her education by receiving a Master’s in Theatre Studies at University of Galway. With 15 years of drama facilitation behind her, she still maintains the original passion for the subject and its power to bring out the creativity, confidence, and talent of her students.
In Galway, Rena has facilitated at Galway Actors Workshop, Eastside Community Drama, The Theatre Room, Ensemble Academy of Dramatic Arts, Coláiste Iognáid (The Jes) Galway, Phoenix Stage School, and Knocknacarra National School, Stage School Ireland, The Irish Wheel Chair Association, Rehab Care Galway and of course Echo Acting.
