Acting Training
At Echo Acting we give actors the training, experience and confidence to grow as performers. We believe in actor lead learning and encourage students to follow their creative instincts and passion. We strive to individualize training as we know no actor is the same.
Your tutor Rena Bryson has 15+ year’s experience teaching drama and holds an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies. Rena has experience working with vulnerable children/adults and welcomes students of all abilities.
Through each course, you will explore different acting methods, experiment with genres, build confidence, and have lots of laughs along the way!
Adult Acting Courses
There are 4 in person adult courses a year, alongside online one to one training. Imaginative Acting (January – February), Ensemble Performance (March – April) Scenes on Screen (May – June) and Acting on Stage (September – November).
Scenes on Screen Teen
This workshop is a condensed version of our popular Scenes on Screen course, but for young performers (12 – 18). Actors will build their acting skills while rehearsing and performing scenes from TV and film with other actors. The workshop concludes with a professional headshot session with Cat Bonner Photography.

One-on-One Classes

Echo Acting offers One on One classes to assist actors with developing their skills, preparing for auditions, or completing an individualized course suited to the actor’s needs. One-on-one sessions take place online and can be based on your schedule!
Usually, I recommend a 6-week course for general acting training, during which actors work on characterization, text analysis, and physicality while developing a monologue or scene. The fantastic advantage to one on one training is that the course can be adapted to each actor’s individual needs.
Each class is 1 hour duration, €30 per session, with a 20% discount for returning actors on 6 week courses.

Group Workshops

I facilitate workshops for various groups with different needs, end goals and timelines. I have facilitated regular workshops for groups such as Rehab Care, Irish Wheel Chair Association and Eastside Community Drama. Through this work I have had the privilage of watching confidence and skills grow while getting to know the group and their unique needs.
I also facilitate short courses or one off workshops for groups such as Theatre Room Galway and An Tobar Nua. These courses have a specific outcome, for example a film project, advice on public speaking or rehearsal for stage performance.
Schools

- I provide drama classes for schools and was particularly inspired by my work at Knocknacarra National School as part of the Creative Schools Project.
- Echo Acting’s international summer theatre course allowed high school students from Rome to experience Galway while building their creative skills.
- I also enjoy seeing the confidence of students grow as they rehearse and perform the all important TY musical.

Hear from Rena’s previous students

Rena is an exceptional teacher! She was always informative with new techniques, exercises and adopted styles. She was very positive and supportive through the whole process and continues to be too. I cannot recommend Echo enough for those interested in pursuing those long held ambitions to give acting a go!
