Jungle Door invites its audience to indulge in the joyous, disheartening, and hopeful moments over a year shared by ex-lovers Michelle and Louise, as they rekindle their friendship. Challenged by beauty standards and the housing crisis, Michelle smiles through the filler and plans her perfect day, unaware her bridesmaid is hiding a dark secret.

Jungle Door at the Mick Lally Theatre

Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Jungle Door’s final performance was at The Mick Lally Theatre, Galway on October 30th 2022. Jungle Door was supported by Galway City Council & funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Local Live Performance Programming Scheme Phase 4.


Jungle Door at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

In August 2022 Jungle Door made its International debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Edinburgh Audience review: “Deep-rooted issues are tackled head on; queer culture, body image, and homelessness in a comedic dramatic piece from this home grown Irish team. Good dramatic devices with note-worthy writing and acting.”

Jungle Door at the Town Hall Theatre

In 2022 Jungle Door was presented to a live audience from the Town Hall Theatre’s main stage.

In 2019 the play was revisited with a new version of the script and a new director.  The new Jungle Door was performed at The Moat Theatre in Naas, Kildare from the 24th – 25th of January 2020.

Jungle Door at Galway Pride

Following it’s Sligo run Jungle Door was produced as part 2018’s Galway Pride Festival. The performance was one night only at Teach Solais on the 14th of August 2018 welcoming donations from the audience with all proceeds going to Teach Solais and Amach.

Jungle Door at the Where We Are Now Festival

This exciting dramatic play by Rena Bryson was originally performed in the Black box at I.T Sligo on May 4th, 5th and 6th 2018 as part of the Where We Are Now LGBT+ theatre festival. This was a theatre festival celebrating works written by and about those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender produced by The Rabbit’s Riot Theatre Company and Killian Glynn.
