Eva’s Echo Theatre
Rena Bryson & Hazel Doolan started out as actors but after starting their theatre company in 2017 also explored their art through writing, directing and of course producing. They produced over 10 productions alongside amazing creative teams.
It was their mission to bring innovative theatre set in modern Ireland to both theatre lovers and new audiences. As artists they gave a voice to the underrepresented people of Ireland while consistently challenging themselves creatively. They supported the professional development of emerging artists by providing a platform, a safe working environment, a community, financial compensation and dramaturgical support.

RUFFLED FEATHERS
Could you forgive your sister if she cursed your children to be swans? And she married your husband after you passed? And she stole your good perfume? Step into a magical realm where three sisters attempt to mend their relationships through comedy, drama, and all the enchantment of Irish mythology.
JUNGLE DOOR
A visual delight Jungle Door invites its audience to indulge in the joyous, disheartening and hopeful moments over a year shared by Michelle and Louise. Their problematic relationship as friendly ex-lovers is challenged by marriage, jealousy and the housing crisis. Smiling through the Botox, Michelle plans her perfect day unaware her bridesmaid is hiding a dark and dangerous secret.
LATTE
We’ve all done it, eavesdropping. You’re in a café, the couple at the next table, what is their relationship? First date? Related? Colleagues?
This exciting new play by Sarah Fahy shows you a sneak peek into the lives of other cafe customers while they sip their lattes. It is a slice of life in contemporary Ireland exploring many modern issues. We are such complicated beings, two regular individuals having a coffee may not be what they seem!
IT’S TRUE I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH
It’s True I Love You All So Much by Jenni Nikinmaa was an innovative piece of interactive digital theatre. The audience watching is in front of their screens, disconnected from each other and disconnected from the performance, performer, and the stage, which are the same thing, the screen. The audience is part of the process, the part that is watching how self-harm and madness perform themselves.
UNIFORM
What is it to be a woman? Is it what you wear? Your vocation? Are you not a woman because you don’t wear heels or a skirt? Are you not professional because you like to dress in pink? This thought provoking one woman play written and starring award winning playwright Hazel Doolan explores self-identity, coming of age and loss of agency.
STARSEED
In this new dark comedy by Killian Glynn, homeless and disillusioned, Iris is far from the goddess she was named for. The streets of Galway transport her to surreal, dangerous and mystifying visions and she finds her past brought suddenly into the present. Armed only with her sharp wit and her best friend Gavrail, Iris must unravel her dreams and step into reality… before it’s too late
VLOGGER
Vlogger follows the journey of a video blogger Mia and her partner Sandra as they face a family crisis. Mia’s fixation on social media negatively affects her relationship with Sandra who’s frustration with their new lifestyle grows throughout the play. Mia’s compulsion to document and share every aspect of their lives online escalates leading both characters to face consequences that will affect them for the rest of their lives. The contrast between the real and digital world is exhibited by the performers engagement with projections throughout the production.
DAYSHIFT
Darren Donohue’s Dayshift follows the adventures of a certain Mr. Day as he takes up a new position within a vast, complex organisation. But from the moment he awakes, he appears out of harmony with both his surroundings and the people he encounters. As he struggles to understand the inner workings of the organisation, we’re drawn into an innovative re-imagining of modern Ireland and the high cost of its value system.
THE WAY IT IS
You are invited to explore the aftermath of Yasmine and Cane’s eight year relationship in real time when Cane visits his former home. Yasmine wants justice, a price to pay for time stolen from her. Cane wants peace, to heal the wounds from his past. Will their romance be rekindled or will Cane walk away from Yasmine forever? Yasmine has a question and Cane’s answer could change their lives forever.
MATCH
Match was an original play following Ann’s journey as she struggles with dating through technology while surrounded by unsavory friends, awkward co-workers and deceiving dates. Bad advice, strong drinks and poor timing don’t help either… but sometimes the wrong directions can lead you where you need to be. The creators of Match received the Galway Fringe Best Emerging Artists Award 2017.
